World Alzheimer's Day

Most people’s first glimpse at dementia is through seeing their grandparents or elderly relatives develop symptoms.

Fronditha Care wrote this bilingual children’s book Yiayia at the market to help Greek Australian children understand the world of their grandparents living with dementia.

.

Illustrated by the students at Oakleigh Grammar and with a contribution from HMSA, the book follows a young boy visiting the market with his family and coming to terms with his grandmother’s changing behaviours.
